Thank you to everyone who came to our open events, and of course to ours hosts JC's Play Cafe and Natter Cafe. The two events held in Farncombe, were an opportunity for us to meet local parents and share details about the new nursery.
Families were able to see plans for the refurbishments at the nursery, including examples of how the inside will look when completed. Building works are on track for a September open.
While the children were enterained by our staff from The Wigwam Day Nursery, parents were able to find out more about NMT Top 10 John Warren's vision and ethos for our learning through play approach.
Taking the best from a variety of learning theories, we will encourage a love of learning through using ordinary items (we love exploring charity shops!) and letting children enjoy open ended play.
The example below uses real dried oranges, which allow children to feel, smell and even taste - far more than they would get from a plastic orange! Combined with mirrors and interesting shapes, pots for filling and emptying the play and learning opportunites are endless.
Our new nursery in Godalming will use an outside catering company, who specialise in supplying to nurseries. The menus will be varied, exciting, and of course nutritious. If you have any concerns about allergies or specific dietary requirements, we can put your mind at ease. Between the catering company and our own rigid procedures, your child's meal times will be a safe and enjoyable experience.
Many parents aksed us about our approach to pre-school. We will carry on with our learning through play approach right through to the children leaving us for school. There will be some slightl changes that help the children prepare for the changes at school, but at Toddletown in Godalming, the emphasis remains on learning through play in a nurturing and welcoming environment.
The picture below is an example of our mark making activities....why write in a textbook when you can bury letters and write in sand using a stick you've just found in the garden!
We'll add more details about the progress of the building, and open dates soon. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us on hello@toddletowndaynursery.co.uk
