We are delighted to confirm our first parent events for 2023. Due to the fantastic response we have two dates secured for our self-regulation workshops.
Tuesday 7th March 2023 & Tuesday 21st March 2023
There will be a maximum number of 20 parents for each evening and there is an "old school" sign up sheet available in the nursery for you to register.
There will be a small cost of £10 per person for the evening, with drinks and nibbles provided.
About the event...
Self-regulation involves children developing the ability to regulate their emotions, thoughts and behaviour to enable them to act in positive ways toward a goal. Self-regulation grows out of co-regulation, where adults and children work together toward a common purpose, including finding ways to resolve upsets from stress in any domain and return to balance.
" The rapid brain development which takes place in early childhood paves the way for the growth of self-regulation, which develops both through the maturing of the brain’s neural systems and through opportunities to practice. It continually develops through to adulthood, with further development of self-regulation taking place in adolescence. Self-regulation is now recognised as crucially important in young children’s development, strongly predicting children’s later success in relating to others and in their learning, while supporting lifelong mental and physical health." Birth to five matters written by the Early years Coalition.
We have the awarding winning Cheryl Bedding who will be coming along for the evening to share some information and strategies to help support your children.
